Averages hide the truth. A profitable-looking business can be carrying two or three loss-making contracts nobody's flagged, subsidised by everything else. Without a clean view by customer, contract or product, every pricing and resourcing decision is a guess dressed up as a plan.
Challenges
WHAT THIS MEANS

Profitability by the piece is when the business can see total revenue clearly, but can't break it down to where the profit, or the loss, actually sits.

SITUATION

The Situation

1

What usually happens

Reporting exists at the total level, but breaking it down by customer, contract or product means someone rebuilding it from scratch, manually, every time.
2

How Pillr helps

A clear, repeatable view of where the profit actually comes from, so pricing, resourcing and customer decisions are made on evidence, not instinct.

How we get you ready

1

Profitability mapped by customer and contract

See exactly where the margin comes from, and where it doesn't.
0
2

Pricing decisions backed by data

Know what to charge, and what to walk away from.

3

A model that updates itself

Not a one-off exercise: a view that stays current as the business changes.

Questions we get asked

How long does it take to build a profitability view like this?

This is usually scoped during a Sprint and then delivered as a Build project. How long it takes depends on how complex the business is and how costs are tracked today, and that gets agreed up front. You'll see the shape of the answer early, using the data already sitting in your systems.

What if our systems don't track costs at that level of detail?

That's normal, and it's usually the real problem. Part of the work is agreeing a sensible way to allocate shared costs so the numbers are directionally right, even if they're not perfectly precise. Precise enough to change a decision beats perfect but too slow to use.

Will this replace our existing reporting?

No. It sits alongside it. Your existing reporting tells you what happened. This tells you why, at the level of an individual customer or contract.

OUR APPROACH

Getting started is simple

Get in touch and we'll set up a short call to talk through where things stand. If a Sprint is the right next step, we'll scope it there and then. If it's Build, Scale, or Deal, we'll tell you that too, and why.
